1. Keep Skin Clean
Too often when trying to get rid of acne individuals try to clean skin and overdo it. This dries out skin and also spurs skin to overproduce oils which clog pores and make acne worse. Use an acne cleanser with a weakened solution of salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide in it. Use stronger solution cleansers when breakouts warrant. Avoid getting solution in the skin near eyes or in ears, nose or eyelids or under eye areas.
2. Moisturize Carefully
The oils found in inexpensive lotions and creams are actually pore clogging emollients that feel good on dry skin but will results in clogged pores and opportunities for acne bacteria to explode.
3. Avoid Pressment
Studies have shown that pressing repeatedly on skin activates friction heat and energizes dormant bacteria. The place where fabric or other plastic materials are pressed against skin will spark breakouts.
4. Wash Hair/Keep Clear of Face
Hair oils not carefully kept from face and skin cause breakouts. Scalp not washed regularly can break out. Products can collect dirt and dirty oil and moisture drift down to neck and shoulders. Hair and styling oils can get on face and spark breakouts by natural contact.
5. Exercise
Exercise been advised to clear breakouts because of the toning result it gives skin after cooling off. Toning lotions can contain alcohol and dry out skin, but working out refreshes skin with circulation and moisture via perspiration.
6. Exfoliation
Pores are the key to acne, and nothing clogs skin pores like leftover scar tissues, makeup, dirt and oil. Through the adolescent years, younger skin may experience skin cell build up as less of a problems. But older adults, especially those with adult acne, should try to keep skin sloughed off at least once a week and toned using spa or steam resources.
7. Use a medicated cleanser
Certain areas become affected with acne more than others, such as forehead, skin between the eyes, cheekbones, nose, chin and neck and under chin area. A medicated cleanser with one per cent salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide can penetrate acne medication pores when they need it.
8. Clean pillowcase
Laundry, sheets, pillowcases and towels are breeding grounds for bacteria. Pillowcases house a lot of moisture, oils, and bacteria from hair. To keep skin as free from acne breakouts as possible, keep linens clean.
9. Use water-based makeup
Water based makeup used instead of oil based makeup is better to get rid of acne on two levels. Oil based makeup carries dirt and colouring mediums down into pores. Cleaning off oil based makeup required an oil based skin removal cream, which likely has some kind of palm oil or mineral oil in it. Water based makeup leaves only skin clays on the top layer after evaporation and can be cleaned from the face much easier than oil based makeup.
10. Get enough sleep
Sleep allows the body to heal itself and counteract immune system threats like acne bacteria, acne sores, lesions and skin eruptions or cysts. To get rid of acne, get enough sleep to prevent breakouts due to lack of circulation, fatigue, dehydration, or lack of proper moisturizing.
